What Are the Phases of Weight Loss?


In the last few years, many people have asked me what are the different phases of weight loss. I always answered by telling them that each individual has to adapt to the lifestyle that they choose, and that this would entail adapting their way of eating. Well, I did not stop them from asking, but I did want to inform them that there is more than one type of phase of weight loss. And that is the true power of metabolism!

I have already written that there are four phases of weight loss journey. The first one is the beginning wherein you do not even realize that you are taking action on your weight loss goals at all. You just feel like doing it and that is enough motivation to get you through the day. Once you get used to it, you will start to notice how much better you feel and look, and soon enough, you will be ready to tackle the next phase which is the non-scale victories.

The next phase is the confidence that you will lose the amount of weight that you are trying to lose. It is quite hard to lose if you are not even sure that you will lose. But once you see that you are losing weight, the butterflies will start to come in your stomach. This is your starting point in the diet journey. Once you get rid of these butterflies, you can then be sure that you are on your way to losing weight.

After this are the periods in which you start to feel like exercising and actually going to the gym. As we all know, exercising is one of the best ways to lose the excess weight and stay in shape. So once you are ready to start putting some exercise into your daily schedule, you will immediately notice that you have a lot more energy and that your metabolism is running very efficiently. And as you exercise more often, you will be on your way to gaining back your previous curves.

Finally, the third phase which is the period wherein you feel like you have achieved your goal and weight loss is finally yours. Yes, once you achieve your desired body weight, you will automatically feel that you have beaten your goal. You will now be able to enjoy the many benefits that a well-balanced diet and regular exercise brings to your body. You can now look at your new body with satisfaction as you realize yet another accomplishment in your weight loss journey.

In addition to this, you also have the chance to celebrate yet another achievement in your weight loss journey. As you have just achieved your goals in losing weight, you now have the chance to indulge yourself in a new diet. If you are a person who likes to eat carbohydrates, you might now want to take this as an opportunity to eat more carbohydrates. Or if you are someone who loves protein, you can now have a taste of lean meats. Just make sure that your diet is still comprised of all the essential elements such as vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.

The fourth and final phase in your weight loss journey is the maintenance phase. During this time, you can now look forward to enjoying the benefits that you have just gained by not eating more than what you need. This is due to the fact that you have now reached your ideal body weight and you can now be confident enough in yourself to know that you do not have to worry about gaining weight anymore. The maintenance phase is indeed a significant phase because it can help you rebuild your confidence and self-esteem after you have given up food for a long time.

All in all, these are three common phases of weight loss. They are meant to give you a glimpse of how a balanced diet and regular exercise can help you get rid of fats and keep them away for a long time. Once you have succeeded in losing fat through this way, it is best to maintain it. You can then enjoy all the benefits that these three phases of weight loss have to offer. You just have to remember that all the important aspects of a healthy diet and regular exercise should always be included in your daily routine to achieve the best results.
